Picture it.....2020,  a world in turmoil, no one knowing what's going on, shuttered shops, closed pubs, NO TOILET ROLL!!!!!!

Ok, ok, so maybe I am adding a little dramatic effect. Back before all that L word madness I had the pleasure of being a karaoke host in my local pub, The Kings Head in Berwick-upon-Tweed (nice place, Google it...actually I might even get some links up to promote it a little). The L word struck! Joris Bohnson made the announcement and boom.....no more karaoke...oh yeah and all that other stuff too of course.

It was then suggested by one of our regulars that I maybe knock out a wee online quiz using Facebook to keep us all entertained of a Saturday evening. If they didn't have to listen to me sing they were still going to have to listen to me talk.

Well, I set about getting a little 5 rounder knocked out and the stage was set....Who would attend? Would it work? Would they like it? These were all questions I fully forgot to ask myself and simply ploughed on regardless.

It worked, they love it and me, well they kept coming back every week so something must have gone right. 

Every Saturday night we quizzed and finally old Doris Modson spake and he spake thus, that we may have the pubs, until 10pm, and sit down, without karaoke or dancing, Not to worry, we can still do the weekly quiz just in the pub. We began charging a wee fee and once we raised £250,  the winners that week got to select a charity or good cause and we donated the £250. Over the next few years the quizzes continued online and in the pub as we slowly returned to what was once normal. I took a bit of a break online for a while and the pub was back to full fledged music and karaoke but I resurrected the Facebook page and went back to it with weekly pre recorded quizzes.

Well that's a little about me and how we got to where we are. A simple L word Facebook quiz, around £5 or £6 thousand raised for a huge range of great causes and now it's time for the new chapter. Here is the website, the new range of weekly quizzes for 2025 as well as who knows what else.

I was going to add and re-write this....but I am sorry, it's the work of a genuis...or possibly a madman, either of which I shall take to be honest.
